Steppin Out is Steppin Up!

Steppin Out:  Under the Stars had a visitor/volunteer this weekend.  What fun it was to have Sal Cutrona  of Michael Christophers Salon and Day Spa come to style the hair of our 19 mannequins for the exhibit.  We took our “friends”  from a bit crazy (especially the gentlemen) to fabulous!  Sal works for the Miss Delaware pageant, but this was a challenge of a different type- the mannequins were very patient with him as he worked into bring to being hairstyles from the 1870s through the 1970s.  He worked on Mrs. Caleb Boggs, giving her an up do worthy of the Presidential Inaugural Ball to a 1950s prom dress, a 1970s upscale hippie and on Margo Ewing Bane Woodacre with her 1969 Miss Delaware dress and crown for the Miss America pageant.  Thanks Sal!  You can come to see these special gowns and tuxes and Sal’s stylings starting this Friday at the Delaware History Museum.  Visit our website for more details about visiting.   http://www.dehistory.org/
