New Years Day One Century Ago

One hundred years ago, on New Years Day, European countries had seen two and a half years of the scourge of The Great War. It wouldn’t be for another fifteen months that the United States would enter what we now know as the First World War.  Our posts in remembrance of this international tragedy present headlines, local news, and anecdotal peculiarities from the Delmarva Sunday Star newspaper, which was published in Wilmington every Sunday. Each week we call to mind at least three Delaware soldiers who fought in the war.
