Remembering World War I on Presidents Day

In recognition of Presidents Day, we call to mind the service records of four Delaware soldiers with the same last names as United States Presidents:  Reagan, Truman, Johnson, and the President during WWI- Wilson. A few articles from the Sunday Star newspaper one hundred years ago are also presented.

  • That we may not forget those who have come before, or their bravery, or their service.
  • To compare circumstances in the first World War with the political landscape of today’s international community.
  • To discern the personalities, events, and topics which defined Delaware, and the nation, a century ago.
