Buccaniers in America Before the Revolutionary War

This week we unearth a buried treasure in the DHS rare book collection  from 1762 entitled “The History of Bucaniers of America;  Being An Entertaining Narrative of The Exploits, Cruelties and Sufferings of the following noted Commanders. v.12 .

Joseph Esquemeling,  Bat. The Portuguese

Pierre Le Grand, Capt. Sharp

Lolonois, Capt. Watling

Roche Brasiliano, Capt. Cook

Together with a curious Description of the Manners, Customs, Dress, and Ceremonies of the Indians inhabiting near Cape Gracias a Dios.

Published for the ‘MPROVEMENT and ENTERTAINMENT of the BRITISH YOUTH of both Sexes.”

This book was printed for James Knox (bookseller) in Glasgow, Scotland.
