Women of the Constitution

Our collection feature this week is a follow up to a 1912 work “The Wives of the Signers” (previously highlighted on this blog) which was devoted to biographical sketches of the spouses of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Today’s feature contains brief biographies of the forty-three wives of the signers of the U.S. Constitution, a few of which appear here.

All images can be magnified by clicking on the image, clicking again on  ‘view full size’ (bottom right in slide show) and clicking a third time on the tiny circle with a plus sign.

A highlight from the Delaware Historical Society’s book collection appears on this blog every Wednesday morning.
