Our featured book this week explains the history and unique qualities of one of northern Delaware’s earliest towns- Newark, Delaware along with the area surrounding it, as chronicled in 1936 by Francis Cooch. Newark was first settled by Scots-Irish and Welsh immigrants in 1694. It was formally chartered by King George II of Great Britain in 1758.
