Some Songs of Arden

arden_001The 109th “Arden Fair” takes place this Saturday, September 3rd. In recognition, we explore the poetry of one of the founding fathers of the unique, utopian, ‘single tax’ community in northern Delaware known as Arden.   Arden has been a enclave of creative, literary, and artistic personalities since its founding in 1900.  The village is intended to embody the Shakespearean spirit of Renaissance England, and as such is home to a vibrant theater (The Candlelight Dinner Theater), a forest named Sherwood, a music and craft center (Gild Hall), a library and archives, eclectic architecture, numerous green spaces and countless trees.
