Remembering World War I

In early 1917 Germany began ignoring previous agreements to not attack American ships and other non-military passenger vessels. The United States was still neutral in March, 1917 in the European Conflict but attacks from German U Boats was what prompted, as much as any other single factor, the American entry into WWI the following month, in early April 1917.

In this post are the service records of three Delawareans and various excerpts from the Sunday Star newspaper for the last week of February, 1917.
