Remembering World War I in Delaware: 100 Years Ago This Week

On June 25th, 1917, the first wave of American soldiers arrived on the shores of France.

On June 27th,  the largest gun ever built up until that time, Germany’s “Lange Max” fired for the first time. It’s target was Dunkirk.

    1. Thank you so much GP! I enjoy highlighting the newspapers, but its honoring the Soldiers, who are largely forgotten now, that brings me the most pleasure. It’s an honor and my favorite part of the blog. I’ve learned things from your blog about the Pacific Front I never had the slightest idea about. Keep up the great work!

      1. Team work -you are dealing with the parents of the veterans I talk about in many instances. Together we give the readers a look back into a world we will never see again.
